We all love walking into that plush hotel bedroom, fresh white luxury linen sheets and the crispest, plumpest cushions. A hotel stay really is an utter treat, so why not take these 5 easy steps to create that feeling every day at home?
1. Design a seating area
If you have the room, a little corner dedicated to a beautifully placed chaise or single chair combined with a side table, accessorised with a beautifully dressed tray complete with water bottle, glass and artificial plant perfects a room, transforming your space into your very own boutique style bedroom. Just sit back, relax and admire your efforts.
2. Scatter cushions
Cushions and throws are a fantastic and cost-effective way to transform your bedroom into your very own boutique room. There is no rule here, use a couple of statement pieces or a variety of sizes in descending order. Go bold with colours and textures to create your desired look.
3. Window dressing
Blackout curtains are a must if you want a great night sleep. Go for sweeping floor-length curtains to add warmth and luxury and even combine them with voiles to maintain privacy during the day.
4. Make a statement with your headboard
There is one easy way to create an instant wow factor in a bedroom – that’s with a bold and creative headboard! A headboard made to measure can maximise the space in your room and you can even use the whole wall to fill the space. Not only does this make your room look larger but it also makes an impact too!
5. Crisp, white bedding
There is nothing better than getting into a freshly made bed. To recreate this boutique look, purchase a plain high thread count bedding set and be sure to iron it to get that hotel feeling. Large and fluffy cloud-like cushions are untouchable. I often purchase two types of cushions: large fluffy ones to prop up the bed and dress combined with two thinner ones, often memory foam used to sleep on.
